Tickets!

Well, the team has tickets! It was exciting to get that email and know we are REALLY going!!

Here is a bit of news passed along from Coop:

"Hello to all, and God's blessings! Luggage limits: carry-ons, 15 lbs max, and 45 united inches HxLwW. We will each be allowed (2) checked bags - max 50lbs each. "

Team- remember to mark your calendars for Aug 21 - Pre-field missions retreat - mandatory - and we will be joined by the teams going to the DR, and Romania. Please review your binder provided by Pastor Tom Moen. Thanks to Den & Renda for our (fun) personality tests! For the next meeting - be in prayer as to what God is calling you to do on this mission trip - be ready to share! Continue praying for your prayer partners. *Thanks for the devotional, Coop!

Supplies Needed

If you, your company, your church or family are willing to donate any of the following items, please contact us and we will arrange for pick-up and we will distribute in Kenya. Please email jentzsch@udel.edu with questions. Be blessed in your giving!

Medical Supplies including vitamins (adults & kids), pain reliever (tylenol, etc.) more to come!

Dental Supplies- toothburshes, small tubes of tooth paste, floride treatment

Educational supplies: pencils, notebooks, back packs

Larry lives in Parkville, MD and has been married to our wonderful team leader, Dawny, for the last 33 years. They have 2 sons and five grandsons. Larry retired from Verizon Communications in 2006. He now for Baltimore County Public Schools. He was been going to Mountain for a little over 4 years and was part of the 2008 Team that traveled to Kenya. Larry proved himself to be an incredible helper and the man who always had a song in his heart! We know that God will again use Larry to further His kingdom!

Tracy was part of the 2008 mission to Kenya, and is thrilled that she has been called to be a part of this team. Tracy, married to Karl Jentzsch for 17 years, has three children - Jordan, Christopher and Margaret, and one step-daughter, Heidi Gay, and three beautiful grand-daughters. She and Karl are also foster parents and currently have a 6 year old, Jasmine, as part of their family. Tracy is a graphic designer and serves as the Staff Assistant for the Museum Studies program at the University of Delaware. She has a heart for children, and fell in love with the children in Kenya, and feels blessed to have the opportunity to return.

Linda is a medical assistant with a surgical background. She has a heart bursting to serve!

This will be Linda's first short term mission trip. She has waited a long time for an opportunity like this one to come about. She has a strong desire to help others and help spread God's word to others. Russ and Linda have been married coming up on 30 years. They love to travel, driving their trailer out west to Utah and all around, with their dogs Hummer and Moki. Hiking and exploring is the greatest! They have two wonderful sons, Shane (and his wife Tiffany) and Ethan (and his girlfriend Laura). She has worked as a Medical Assistant for about the past 35 years, in different fields of medicine. She currently works for MidAtlantic Cardiovascular by Franklin Square Hospital, where she met the team leader, Dawny. "Without this crossing of paths, this chance of a lifetime would not be possible for me and I owe everthing to Dawny for believing in me and giving me this chance. Thank you!"

Becoming a missionary is a life-changing experince. It involves sacrifice, the ability and willingness to change and put aside fears and prejudices, and a great desire to help others.

Hello, Everyone! My name is Kevin Smallwood. I had the opportunity to go on the mission trip to India last year with Mountain Christian. this was my first mission trip and what an awesome experience. So awesome that God provded me with another opportunity to serve Him and His people in Kenya. I am so excited to be joining this team with Glynn and company. I ahve been a Christian since I was 18 years old. That is wehn I askd the Lord into my life. I haven't always been good at that calling; it has only been since moving to Maryland that I got back to church and serving the Lord. Most of my service has been through music. I sing ans was choir/music director at my former church. Now I attend Oak Grove Baptist, and I'm having a blast! Still singing and filling in to the lead the music when the main music minister is out. I am a Physician Assistant and work in heart surgery. I have been a PA for almost 22 years, most of it in heart surgery. I really enjoy being a PA and enjoy helping people. I have some some freinds that go to Mountain who introduced me to Glynn. We had gone to India together and I learnd a lot from him during the trip. So when the opportunity to do this agian came, I was on board. I am looking forward to serving.

I'm relatively new to Mountain Christian Church and I am VERY excited to be able to join the team. My wonderful husband Ed and I have been married for almost 4 years, and I havve a 9 year old step son. I currently practice hospital medicine as a Physician Assistant at Franklin Square Hosptial, and have for the last 9 years (with various other roles in between). This will be my second mission trip, first being to Cambodia last year. I am embarking on this trip after completing the classs "Perspectives on the World Christian Movement," this past spring. Perspectives is an AMAZING program that really gets one thinking and after much prayer this was the perfect next step. We are blessed to have this opportunity to join the amazing work already in progress to the Maasai people. Thank you for all of your prayers, well wishes and support!!

Karl, the father of four, is joining his wife Tracy on this journey to Africa into the mission field. Karl is the worship leader at the Rising Sun Worship Center, and formerly led contemporary worship at Fellowship of Faith in Kirkwood, PA and Janes United Methodist Church in Rising Sun. He also serves in the music ministry of New Life Assembly Church in Essex, MD. He loves to sing and praise the Lord! Karl works for the State of Maryland Highway Administration, and has been a musician for most of his life. Aside from singing, Karl plays the guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. He hopes that in joining this mission trip he can lend his musical abilities, and his "jack of all trade" handyman skills to serve in any way possible.
